The Shih Tzu is an amazing dog, full of heart and stamina. They love us so completely that we sometimes forget that they are dogs. They come in packages as small as 9 pounds and as large as 16 pounds , but most are somewhere in between. They have beautiful big , round , dark eyes that you can surely get lost in, with a  heads that are broad ,round and wide between the eyes and they have a definite stop. The nose is short with a well cushioned muzzle and the teeth are slightly undershot . The head is carried nicely on a neck that flows back smoothly into a laid back shoulder and level topline.  They are slightly longer than tall and carry the tail gaily over the back like the handle of a teacup. The Shih Tzu always should carry good bone and substance with a luxurious double coat tha comes in all colors and markings. They move effortlessly with a good front reach and an equally strong rear drive.The Shih Tzu is an outstanding companion, with a temperament that is loving and trusting towards everyone.
